Dreams Into Reality is not just another landscaping crew. We are a St. Petersburg native, family-inspired outdoor design and installation company. Our mission is simple: to beautify our community and build premium, functional outdoor environments that our neighbors can enjoy for decades.

Our Roots in St. Pete

Founder Alex Metcalfe was born and raised right here in St. Petersburg. His father, a lifetime green-thumb and landscaping professional, introduced him to the trade early on.

  • The Canterbury Garden: At just six years old, Alex designed a butterfly, vegetable, and fruit garden for Canterbury Elementary School in St. Pete.
  • The Allowance System: While other kids were mowing lawns, Alex made his allowance changing out sprinkler heads, re-routing irrigation lines, and selecting native plants.
  • The Business Shift: After re-entering the landscaping field with his business partner, Alex realized that the local market was flooded with standard lawn-cutting crews but severely lacked high-end, honest design and technical execution. Dreams Into Reality was created to fill that gap.

Our Business Philosophy

We run our business on two core principles: absolute honesty and community forward service.

We’re Not Afraid to Tell You “No”

We value your money and our reputation too much to take your check for a project that we know won’t last. If you want high-maintenance, non-native plants but don’t have the budget to install target-zoned sprinklers, we will educate you on why they will die within three months. We would rather lose a sale than take $4,000 of your hard-earned money and leave you with a dry, dead yard and a bad experience.

Holistic, One-Stop Craftsmanship

A great yard is a complete system. It is like a computer—if you don’t have the right cords (irrigation) and power source (properly graded soil), the monitor won’t turn on. By keeping the design, soil preparation, grading, drainage, sprinkler installation, stone laying, and planting under one roof, we eliminate coordination headaches and guarantee that every element works together perfectly.

We have been building and designing beautiful outdoor spaces across St. Pete for 5 years. We aren’t going anywhere, and we look forward to earning your trust.
