The Golden Rule: The 60-Day Sealing Window

Many contractors will offer to install your pavers and seal them the very next day. This is a terrible practice.

Pavers are made from concrete, and concrete needs time to cure and release natural salts (a process called efflorescence). If you seal a paver too early, you trap those salts underneath the sealer. This creates a cloudy, white, hazy film that ruins the look of the stone and is expensive to strip off.

  • We seal exactly 60 days after installation: This allows the pavers to settle, cure, and release all salts.
  • The 25-Year Difference: When sealed correctly at the 60-day mark, your pavers will retain their rich, deep colors for 25 years.
  • The Unsealed Reality: Pavers left unsealed or sealed poorly will fade, erode, and look dull within 10 years.

Why Polymeric Sand is Essential

Joint sand holds pavers in place and prevents them from rubbing against each other. Cheap crews use basic play sand, which washes away during the first heavy rain, leaving empty joints where weeds thrive.

We use premium polymeric sand. This sand contains special binders that activate and harden when sprayed with water. It locks the pavers in place, resists erosion from rain and pressure washers, and forms a barrier that weeds and ants cannot penetrate.
